Recently, our team carried out a special solidarity activity in the Centro Poblado Selva de Oro, located deep in the Pichanaki jungle region of Peru. This initiative focused on bringing moments of happiness and warmth to children living in vulnerable conditions.

During this outreach, we delivered gifts and prepared a traditional chocolatada, a deeply meaningful activity in Peruvian culture that symbolizes care, celebration, and community unity. Thanks to the commitment of our volunteers and supporters, we were able to reach more than 93 children, boys and girls who received not only presents, but also attention, affection, and a sense that they are not alone.

For many families in Selva de Oro, access to basic services and social support remains extremely limited. Activities like this help strengthen community bonds while reminding children that they matter and that their dreams are valid.

Beyond the smiles and shared moments, this initiative reflects AGAPE HAND’s broader mission: to support vulnerable communities through concrete, transparent, and compassionate action, especially in remote areas of the Peruvian Amazon.

We know 2021 has been another challenging year for most of us, despite corona virus restrictions easing. With many families, children and residents still feeling the financial impact of the pandemic, Christmas this year is likely to be tough for lots of vulnerable children in Uganda and Peru.

Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, the festive period is usually a time for people to have a break from work and catch up with loved ones.

The Agape Hand and partners have brought the Christmas Cheer campaign back again this year to:

• Provide some hope for vulnerable children to get through this together
• Re-connect children who may be feeling isolated, especially if they can’t see their loved ones
• Provide support to our most vulnerable children, through financial assistance or gift

The generosity of many donors continues to change the lives of children in need around the world in tremendous ways, and because of your Christmas giving to Agape Hand, we will have the ability to take the love of God to more significant numbers of vulnerable children this Christmas.

Your support can help make a child’s Christmas a bit more cheerful. You could be helping an ordinary child have a special Christmas dinner, or a particular child who is in need receive a gift from Father Christmas.

Your donation will have a direct impact on many children’s life in Uganda and Peru:

• A donation of $5 could go towards a stocking filler gift for a child 
• A donation of $10 could go towards a Christmas gift for a young person
• A donation of $20 could go towards a Christmas gift for a vulnerable child living alone
• A donation of $25 could go towards a food voucher or hamper for vulnerable children living alone
• A donation of $35 could go towards a food voucher or hamper for a family

All donations, big or small, are gratefully welcomed. We will be working with the necessary bodies to provide children of Uganda and Peru in need this Christmas with gifts, food and vouchers.
